Keith Lawton is a litigation associate and an experienced intellectual property attorney who skillfully protects, enforces, and defends his clients’ brands in high-stakes domestic and international disputes. He brings a sophisticated, strategy-driven approach to trademark, copyright, and brand protection matters, with particular experience combating counterfeiting, phishing scams, crypto scams, infringement, domain name disputes, and other internet-based abuses. Keith has represented clients in cases spanning a wide range of industries, including technology, blockchain, media, financial services, retail, healthcare, and manufacturing. He has litigated matters in federal court, pursued opposition and cancellation proceedings before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office’s Trademark Trial and Appeal Board, and advised clients on enforcement matters before international trademark offices and tribunals.
Prior to joining RFZ Law, Keith was an associate at an AmLaw 100 international firm. Keith earned his J.D. from UCLA School of Law with a specialization in Critical Race Studies. While at UCLA, he served as Co-Director of the Race, Work, and Economic Justice Clinic and worked as a law clerk at Legal Aid at Work in San Francisco. Before beginning his legal career, Keith worked in several industries, including entertainment, sales, recruitment, and education, with professional experience in Canada, Japan, and the United States. He is proficient in Japanese.
